To My Muslim Sisters in hardship,

A Butterfly's Lesson

A man found a cocoon of a butterfly. One day a small opening appeared. He sat and watched the butterfly for several hours as it struggled to force its body through that little hole. Then it seemed to stop making any progress. It appeared as if it had gotten as far as it could, and it could go no further.

So the man decided to help the butterfly. He took a pair of scissors and snipped off the remaining bit of the cocoon.

The butterfly then emerged easily. But it had a swollen body and small, shriveled wings.

The man continued to watch the butterfly because he expected that, at any moment, the wings would enlarge and expand to be able to support the body, which would contract in time.

Neither happened! In fact, the butterfly spent the rest of its life crawling around with a swollen body and shriveled wings. It never was able to fly.

What the man, in his kindness and haste, did not understand was that the restricting cocoon and the struggle required for the butterfly to get through the tiny opening were Allah's way of forcing fluid from the body of the butterfly into
its wings so that it would be ready for flight once it achieved its freedom from the cocoon.

Sometimes struggles are exactly what we need in our lives. If Allah allowed us to go through our lives without any obstacles, it would cripple us.

We would not be as strong as what we could have been. We could never "fly"!

I asked for Strength.........
And Allah gave me Difficulties to make me strong.

I asked for Wisdom.........
And Allah gave me Problems to solve.

I asked for Prosperity.........
And Allah gave me Brain and Brawn to work.

I asked for Courage.........
And Allah gave me Danger to overcome.

I asked for Love..........
And Allah gave me Troubled people to help.

I asked for Favours.........
And Allah gave me Opportunities.

I received nothing I wanted ........
I received everything I needed!

"So blessed be Allah, the best of creators!"

Decidicated to My Muslim Sisters who are going through their struggles.

TO HIM I SEEK
Allah must now how I"m so Strong,
He puts me in such difficult storms.
The tears I cry when I feel so weak,
But I tell my heart to Him I seek.

I feel so defeated when I think I'm on my own,
But in His words I remember to Hold On,
My struggle is only a long journey,
It's through hard times that you really Learn.

And in my Prayers I cry to Him,
Unspoken words I know He can hear,
Eventhough there are times when I have no one to lean on,
My Faith in Him tell me His there.

I have a wonderful poem to share!

My Struggle

They ask: How will you progress in life with yourself covered from head to toe?

I ask: How will I progress to the Other Life if I do not do so?

They ask: What is the use of all your education if you do not care to make a career?

I ask: What is the use of reading His Book if I am void of His fear?

They ask: Why do you insist on being backward in these enlightened times?

I ask: Why do you insist on being modern while being oblivious to all the avoidable crimes?

They ask: What happiness do you find in hiding your face?

I ask: What happiness do you find caught up in this rat race?

They ask: Why do you want to complicate your life further?

I ask: Why do you wish to humiliate yourself in the Life Hereafter?

They ask: How will you face everyone from behind a veil?

I ask: How will I face my Lord when I am judged and I fail?

They ask: What will you gain by this action?

I ask: What if I gain His Mercy, even if it’s a fraction?

My old time favourite Hadith quote!

"Allah says:

‘I am just as My slave thinks I am, and I am with him if He remembers Me. If he remembers Me in himself, I too, remember him in Myself; and if he remembers Me in a group of people, I remember him in a group that is better than they; and if he comes one span nearer to Me, I go one cubit nearer to him; and if he comes one cubit nearer to Me, I go a distance of two outstretched arms nearer to him; and if he comes to Me walking, I go to him running.’"

Some easy tips on acquiring good deeds

1) Replace bad deeds by doing good deeds e.g:

a) charity

b) kind words
---In kind words there is charity and in smiling at a muslim is a good deed :)

c) praying Duha salaah before noon (2 rakats sunnah). Reward for praying is like giving sadaqa (charity)

d) Remembrance of Allah (Dhikr)
---say "Subhan Allahi wa bihamdihi" meaning "Gorified is Allah and prasied is He"
When said a 100 times your sins will be forgiven even if they were as much as foam of the sea.
(Minor sins not major sins)

---say "Subhan Allah" meaning "Gorified be Allah"
When said a 100 times, 1000 rewards will be recorded to your credict and 1000 sins will be wiped away (Minor sins not major sins)

---say "Subhan Allahil Azeemi wa bi hamdihi" meaning "Glorified is allah the most Great and Praised is He".
When said, will have a date palm planted for him in Paradise.

2) Pray tahajjud (also known as qiyaam al-layl): Night Prayer

---Read [al-Furqaan 25:64-76]
Allah says,
"And whosoever repents and does righteous good deeds; then verily, he repents towards Allaah with true repentance".
[al-Furqaan 25:71]

---The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “The best prayer after the obligatory prayer is prayer at night.” Narrated by Muslim, 1163.

And he said: “You should pray qiyaam al-layl, for it is the custom of the righteous who came before you and it brings you closer to your Lord, and expiates sins and prevents misdeeds.”

The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “In Paradise there are apartments the outside of which can be seen from the inside and the inside of which can be seen from the outside.” A Bedouin stood up and said: “Who are they for, O Messenger of Allaah?” He said: “They are for those who speak good words, feed others, fast regularly and pray to Allaah at night when people are sleeping.” Classed as hasan by al-Albaani in Saheeh al-Tirmidhi.

On Knowledge

The story of the 3 men:

Narrated Abu Waqid al-Laithi:

While Allah's Apostle was sitting in the mosque (with some people) three men came, two of them came in front of Allah's Apostle and the third one went away, and then one of them found a place in the circle and sat there while the second man sat behind the gathering, and the third one went away. When Allah's Apostle finished his preaching, he said, "Shall I tell you about these three persons? One of them betook himself to Allah and so Allah accepted him and accommodated him; the second felt shy before Allah so Allah did the same for him and sheltered him in His Mercy (and did not punish him), while the third turned his face from Allah, and went away, so Allah turned His face from him likewise.

Narrated Ibn Mas'ud:

The Prophet used to take care of us in preaching by selecting a suitable time, so that we might not get bored. (He abstained from pestering us with sermons and knowledge all the time).

Whoever leads people in salat should not prolong the prayer...
Narrated Abu Mas'ud Al-Ansari:

A man came to Allah's Apostle and said, "O Allah's Apostle! By Allah, I fail to attend the morning congregational prayer because so-and-so (i.e., Muadh bin Jabal) prolongs the prayer when he leads us for it." I had never seen the Prophet more furious in giving advice than he was on that day. He then said, "O people! some of you make others dislike (good deeds, i.e. prayers etc). So whoever among you leads the people in prayer, he should shorten it because among them there are the old, the weak and the busy (needy having some jobs to do).

Narrated Anas:

Whenever the Prophet peace be upon him spoke a sentence (said a thing, he used to repeat it thrice so that the people could understand it properly from him and whenever he asked permmission to enter, (he knocked the door) thrice with greeting.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The Prophet peace be upon him said:
"Do not wish to be like anyone except in two cases. (The first is) A person, whom Allah has given wealth and he spends it righteously; (the second is) the one whom Allah has given wisdom (the Holy Qur'an) and he acts according to it and teaches it to others."
"Whoever tells a lie against me intentionally, then (surely) let him occupy his seat in Hell-fire."
"Ascribing false things to me is not like ascribing false things to anyone else. Whosoever tells a lie against me intentionally then surely let him occupy his seat in Hell-Fire."
On Faith
Faith consists of Self-respect, Modesty, Bashfulness and Honour, etc
The Prophet peace be upon him said,
"Faith (Belief) consists of more than sixty subdivisions or branches. And Al-Haya is a part of faith."
*Al-Haya covers a large number of concepts, which are to be taken together; amongst them are Self-respect, Modesty, Bashfulness and Honour, etc.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

A man asked the Prophet peace be upon him, "Whose Islam is good or what sort of deeds (or what qualities of Islam are good." The Prophet replied,

"To feed (others) and to greet others those whom you know and those whom you do not know."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The Prophet peace be upon him said,
"None of you will have faith till he likes for his (Muslim) brother what he likes for himself."
"The rewards of deeds depends upon the intentions and every person will get the reward according to what he has intended."
"A Muslim is the one who avoids harming Muslims with his tongue and hands."
"Religion is very easy and whoever overburdens himself in his religion will not be able to continue in that way. So you should not be extremists, but try to be near to perfection and receiver the good tidings that you will be rewarded; and gain strength by offering the prayers in the mornings, afternoons and during the last hours of the nights."
"Abusing a Muslim is Fusuq (an evil doing) and killing him is Kufr (disbelief)."
"Both legal and illegal tings are evident but in between them there are doubtful (unclear) things, and most of the people have no knowledge about them. So whoever saves himself from these doubtful things, he saves his religion and his honour. And whoever indulges in these doubtful things, is like a shephard who grazes (his animals) near the Hima (private pasture) of someone else, and at any moment he is liable to get in it.
(O people!) Beware! Every King has a Hima and the Hima of Allah on the earth is His illegal (forbidden) things. Beware! There is a piece of flesh in the body, if it becomes good but if it gets spoilt the whole body gets spoilt and that is the heart."
"If a man spends on his family with the intention of having a reward from Allah, sincerely for Allah's sake, then it is a (kind of) alms-giving (in reward) for him."
