Oh Allah...

I told you: I’m in pain

You said: ‘Do not despair of the mercy of Allaah’ (39:53)
...
I told you: Nobody knows what is in my heart

You said: ‘Verily, in the remembrance of Allah do hearts find rest’ (13:28)

I told you: Many people hurt me

You said: ‘So pardon them and ask forgiveness for them’ (3:159)

I told you: I feel I’m alone

You said: ‘We are closer to him than [his] jugular vein’ (50:16)

I told you: My sins are so many

You said: ‘And who can forgive sins except Allah?’ (3:135)

I told you: Do not leave me

You said: ‘So remember Me; I will remember you…’ (2:152)

I told you: I’m facing a lot of difficulties in life

You said: ‘And whoever fears Allah – He will make for him a way out’ (65:2)

I told you: I have many dreams that I want to come true

You said: ‘Call upon Me; I will respond to you.’ (40:60)

Subhan Allah

12 Quranic Verses for Year End Reflection

By Majd Arbil

Prophet Muhammad reminds us, "There are two of God's favors that are forgotten by many people: health and free time."

As the current year comes to and end and we start a new year, the following verses of the Quran reflect on the importance of time.

Your Guardian-Lord is God, Who created the heavens and the earth in six eons, and is firmly established on the throne (of authority): He covers the night as a veil over the day, each seeking the other in swift succession: He created the sun, the moon, and the stars, (all) governed by laws under His command. Is it not His to create and to govern? Blessed be God, the Cherisher and Sustainer of the worlds! - (Quran 7:54)

The number of months in the sight of God is twelve (in a year) - so ordained by Him the day He created the heavens and the earth; of them four are sacred: this is the ever-true law [of God]. So wrong not yourselves therein, and combat the Pagans all together as they fight you all together. But know that God is with those who restrain themselves. - (Quran 9:36)

Are they, then, not aware that they are being tested year-in, year-out? And yet, they do not repent and nor do they learn a lesson (from it). - (Quran 9:126)

He it is Who made the sun a shining brightness and the moon a light, and ordained for it phases that you might know the computation of years and the reckoning [of time]. God did not create it but with truth; He makes the signs manifest for a people who have knowledge. - (Quran 10:5)

We have made the Night and the Day as two (of Our) Signs: the Sign of the Night have We obscured, while the Sign of the Day We have made to enlighten you; that ye may seek bounty from your Lord, and that ye may know the number and count of the years: all things have We explained in detail. - (Quran 17:12)

He will say: "What number of years did ye stay on earth?" They will answer: 'We have spent there a day, or part of a day; but ask those who [are able to] count [time]..." He will say: "You stayed not but a little,- if you had only known! Did you, then, think that We created you in mere idle play, and that you would not have to return to Us?." - (Quran 23:112-115)

By (the Token of) Time (through the ages), Verily Humankind is in loss, Except such as have Faith, and do righteous deeds, and (join together) in the mutual teaching of Truth, and of Patience and Constancy. - (Quran 103:1-3)

If you came to the Quran...

"What a tragic misfortune it would be if you came to the Qur'an and went away empty handed, soul untouched, heart unmoved, life unchanged."

On Knowledge

The story of the 3 men:

Narrated Abu Waqid al-Laithi:

While Allah's Apostle was sitting in the mosque (with some people) three men came, two of them came in front of Allah's Apostle and the third one went away, and then one of them found a place in the circle and sat there while the second man sat behind the gathering, and the third one went away. When Allah's Apostle finished his preaching, he said, "Shall I tell you about these three persons? One of them betook himself to Allah and so Allah accepted him and accommodated him; the second felt shy before Allah so Allah did the same for him and sheltered him in His Mercy (and did not punish him), while the third turned his face from Allah, and went away, so Allah turned His face from him likewise.

Narrated Ibn Mas'ud:

The Prophet used to take care of us in preaching by selecting a suitable time, so that we might not get bored. (He abstained from pestering us with sermons and knowledge all the time).

Whoever leads people in salat should not prolong the prayer...
Narrated Abu Mas'ud Al-Ansari:

A man came to Allah's Apostle and said, "O Allah's Apostle! By Allah, I fail to attend the morning congregational prayer because so-and-so (i.e., Muadh bin Jabal) prolongs the prayer when he leads us for it." I had never seen the Prophet more furious in giving advice than he was on that day. He then said, "O people! some of you make others dislike (good deeds, i.e. prayers etc). So whoever among you leads the people in prayer, he should shorten it because among them there are the old, the weak and the busy (needy having some jobs to do).

Narrated Anas:

Whenever the Prophet peace be upon him spoke a sentence (said a thing, he used to repeat it thrice so that the people could understand it properly from him and whenever he asked permmission to enter, (he knocked the door) thrice with greeting.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The Prophet peace be upon him said:
"Do not wish to be like anyone except in two cases. (The first is) A person, whom Allah has given wealth and he spends it righteously; (the second is) the one whom Allah has given wisdom (the Holy Qur'an) and he acts according to it and teaches it to others."
"Whoever tells a lie against me intentionally, then (surely) let him occupy his seat in Hell-fire."
"Ascribing false things to me is not like ascribing false things to anyone else. Whosoever tells a lie against me intentionally then surely let him occupy his seat in Hell-Fire."
To be continued....
